How to celebrate Christmas Dinner in Pattaya

Author: Scuba Steve

Having spent many years living in Thailand, one of the things that I miss about the Uk, though there aren't many, is a traditional Christmas Day Dinner. Late December in Pattaya, brings hot sunny days and a steady increasing number of tourists heading to Thailand for some winter sunshine. It's at this time of year that my mind wanders back to my previous Christmas Festivities in England.

So what can you expect from a Christmas Dinner in Pattaya? There are many bars and traditional english restaurants in Pattaya, and most of them make an extra effort to create a festive atmosphere for the benefit of ex-pats and tourists looking for some Yuletide entertainment.

One of my favourites is an English Restaurant in Cosy Beach, near to Jomtien and they've provided an excellent Christmas Day Menu for more than ten years. Christmas Dinner in Pattaya at The Wishing Well offers a feast of Turkey and Trimmings, fresh vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mince pies and of course a huge portion of christmas pudding, complimented by a glass of Napoleon Brandy. Apart from snow and freezing temperatures, no expense is spared to satisfy the guests at this traditional english restaurant in Pattaya, with christmas crackers, party hats and a christmas tree with fairy lights and tinsel. During the Xmas Dinner, there will be some 'good 'ol christmas tunes' in the background such as "Merry Christmas" by Slade and "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby.

Holiday-makers heading for Thailand at Christmas time, and Pattaya in particular, will be pleased to know that Thai's are among the most friendly and tolerant people on earth, and they will do anything and everything to make you feel welcome and happy. So don't be surprised to see a plethera of young Thai girls dressed as Santa Claus offering you some 'yo ho ho' on Christmas Day in Pattaya. Famous for their permanent smiles, Thai's certainly know how to party and Pattaya people, party better than most. Known as the 'Extreme City', Christmas in Pattaya will leave you thoroughly exhausted, but totally satisfied.

Our Christmas Day Menu has proven to be extremely popular over the last ten years, and has remained at this competitive price of just 850 baht for the previous three years. Christmas Dinner in Pattaya will have several sittings throughout Christmas day, with afternoon and evening reservations being taken from 2.00pm onwards. We strongly advise our guests to book in advance to avoid disappointment as there are limited spaces available for Xmas Day. For those who feel that our full course Christmas Menu may be too much for them, we offer just the Turkey or Roast Beef Dinner at the very reasonable price of 600 baht. If you've never been to The Wishing Well in Cosy Beach and you're undecided whether to book for our Christmas Fayre, we welcome you to call in during the festivities of Pattaya at Christmas and sample the quality and value of our Roast Dinners and friendly atmosphere, available seven days a week.

The Wishing Well English Restaurant in Pattaya would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our guests and friends a very merry christmas and a prosperous new year. If you're in Pattaya at Christmas, we welcome you to join us for a traditional Christmas Day Dinner with everything provided, except the snow. More information about our Christmas Day Menu can be found on our website at www.wishingwellpattaya.com

Football Ornaments

Author: Mitch Jelly

American Football:

The first person paid to play football was William Heffelfinger also called Pudge; he was paid 500 dollars in 1892 to play for Allegheny against Pittsburgh. Of course American Football started earlier than this. Football type games had been around for many years in Europe and in the Americas, but each area had its own set of rules as limited as they might be, often the rules and even the name of the game varied from school to school. In the early days it was often just called mob-ball, because it was usually a lot of people on the field just trying to move the ball into the end zone. Because the game was so rife with injury many colleges began to ban it, but as they did so it gained popularity in prep schools. By the mid 1800s inflatable balls were being manufactured and in wide spread use. In those days it was more running or kicking, looking very similar to a rugby game. But the big change came from Walter Camp, also known as the Father of American Football, he helped create many rule changes to differentiate the game and make the rules uniform. Throughout his life he wrote books and articles and gave lectures about the game he loved so much. Football became one of the most popular sports drawing in large crowds where everyone could play and enjoy the game, even Santa Claus Playing Football.

NFL:

The NFL was formed in 1922; it was previously called the American Professional Football Association, which had been started in 1920. Then in 1959 a Texas oilman named Lamar Hunt tried to buy one of the Chicago teams and failed, after which he tried to get the NFL to create expansion teams and to start one of them in his city of Dallas, Texas. The NFL rejected this idea wanting to stay with the 12 teams they had in the league. After this failure Lamar came up with the idea of forming a new league. Having convinced other wealthy businessmen to start teams the new league was official in August 1959 and called the American Football League or AFL. Merger talks between the two leagues began in 1966, but they were not fully merged until 1970.

Sports Ornaments:

There are all kinds of football decorations and ornaments for the football fan to use and enjoy, from the Collegiate Football Star to Football Moms Sports Christmas Ornaments. Most people enjoy decorating their Christmas Trees Artificial with their favorite types of ornaments, whither Angel Ornaments or Sports Ornaments and everything in between. There are ornaments for children such as the African American Football Gifts For Boys or even for the child who will grow up to be Our Next Pro Quarterback.

Playing the Game:

As with most games the object is to finish with more points than your opponent. A game of football is broken up into 4 quarters each lasting 15 minutes, two quarters make a half, and at the end of the first half is the halftime break. So while the actual game play is roughly one hour, the game can take several hours to play. The football field where the game is played is 120 yards long, including ten yards for the end zone at either end. The end zone is where the scoring takes place, the object is to get the ball into the other teams end zone, either by running or throwing.

Celebrate Holidays at Their Best

Author: Michelle Patelle

Christmas season and the New Year's Celebration -- these have been the most anticipated days for us through the whole year. Thus, we put more effort into making it the best holiday experience ever! Tradition is great, but shake things up every once in a while.

After making our plans on what to cook, the theme of our party, and other preparations, we usually take stock on the best venue to celebrate it. We wouldn't want to have a party in the same place we had last year, right? Well, worry no more because I have your problem solved. Here are some of the amazing places you could celebrate your holiday entertainments.

Party At The Beach
Since everybody wants to take a break from their busy schedules, taking a dive into a warm clime at a cool beach is one of the best ways to relax and chill. You can even do other things like snorkeling and surfing. To add spice to your vacation party, you can have games like sand castle making. Then at night, better yet, have a bonfire under the starry sky. It can surely be one of the most unforgettable holiday getaways.

Try It At A Bar
If you are like one of the "party people", you would surely know how fun it is to celebrate in the bar. Aside from the fact that you will save from paying for a venue, you will also be assured that the mood of your party will be happy. The music is loud, drinks are available all the time, and most especially, everybody is in the groove to dance. What more do you need? You will surely be meeting new folks. That is a good holiday present.

Tourist Sites
Some people just can not stay in one place all the time. If you are that type, why not try spending your holiday season going from one place to another? You can check the internet for cool tourist sites that would surely fit your taste. By doing this, you will not only enjoy yourself by seeing breathtaking sceneries, but you will also become more familiar to the customs of other places. Just a reminder, make sure to book for accommodations ahead of time so that you will not encounter any problems along the way. Bring your digital camera too because you will surely want to treasure every moment of your holiday escapade.

At Home
This venue is one of the most traditional venues. They say there is no other place like home. Indeed, when you celebrate your holiday season with the rest of your family at home, it will surely be like no other holiday celebration. It is at home where you feel most comfortable. To make it memorable, try to surprise the rest of your loved ones with mouth watering dishes and lovely gifts. This way, you will not only make their tummies full, but you will also touch their hearts with love.

Holidays are surely worth celebrating so remember to enjoy them to the fullest. Also, never forget to spread some love to whoever wherever you may bump into them. That is the only way you would really feel happy. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to everyone!

Free Christmas Scrapbook Checklist

Author: Dorothy Krusky

So here is a FREE checklist to help you gather memories for your Christmas 2007 scrapbook. Free download attachment.

http://selfhelpresources.bravehost.com/shr7.html

Print the page one each side, front and back so the one sheet can be tacked to the refrigerator or another convenient place. Here are some tips to keep in mind for your checklist that you can use for your scrapbook.

CUT/PURCHASE TREE: Take pictures and make notes of where, when, how and what kind of tree was used for Christmas. Was the tree bought or was it cut down? Did the kids pick out the tree? What was the date and weather conditions that day? How was the tree transported home? Take pictures of all these steps.

DECORATE TREE: Take pictures as the tree is getting set up, who was there and who all helped in the decorating and trimming. Take pictures of the tree top ornament and who is hanging it. Decorating the tree is a special event for all especially when it is completed and the lights go on for the first time.

INSIDE/OUTSIDE DECORATING: Don’t forget to get pictures of your outside light displays and any inside areas that have been decorated. When the family goes for the annual Christmas Eve drive to view the Christmas lights displays around town, take the camera for more pictures and journal the event as to all who went for the ride.

SANTA CLAUS PARADE: Journal and take pictures of the children at this event. The pictures of the floats etc and the crowds make great colourful memories.

FAMILY TRADITIONS: Journal and take pictures of all the family traditions. For example, the Christmas Eve storybook that is read to the children every Christmas Eve. The family movie that is watched together on the evening of Christmas day. The annual Christmas baking and menu preparations. Journal the trip up and down the streets singing Christmas Carols, which songs were sung and who all was singing.

LETTERS/NOTES/LISTS TO SANTA: Keep copies of letters to Santa and or any notes or Christmas wish lists as memorabilia for the scrapbook. Children love to write to Santa.

CHRISTMAS EVE: Take pictures of family gatherings, the tree and stocking, the milk and cookies left for Santa and one last picture at the end of the night with just the glow of the Christmas tree lights. Sneak a picture of the children sleeping in their beds. Have the camera ready for Christmas morning.

CHRISTMAS MORNING: Grab as many pictures as possible before the paper flies and then take individual pictures with favorite gifts. Take a picture of the ‘before’ and ‘after’ cleanup. Take a picture of the family breakfast.
